Mobile phones are the current craze amongst the people. Even teenagers have it. What is so important about these little gadgets that make them a necessity in one’s life?

According to Mobile Phones Blog, there are numerous ways that a cellphone can be of help.
1. For emergency purposes: Once you get into an accident, or maybe you were held-up at the corner of some street, then you could key in the number of your local police station and call for help.
2. Have you seen some suspense movies wherein the protagonist used SMS (text messaging) to alert somebody rather than calling (i.e. Prisonbreak scene of Dr. Sara Tancredi etc.)? She did that because calls are traceable—and it’ll take some time to trace outgoing SMS. Plus, you could delete SMS in the “sent” area after you’ve sent it.
3. The power of GPS. Surely, if you are in a very critical scenario like you have been hostaged or kidnapped (hypothetically), then if you have GPS or global positioning system, the authorities will be able to track down your exact location in a short span of time.
