Western Union, a money transfer company, has teamed up with some mobile phone carriers in the United States that allow its subscribers to remit and send money through their mobile phones. Reports claim that about 35 cellphone companies have signed to the deal—meaning, millions of people will be able to benefit the said service. This will also enable the subscribers to send smaller sums of money to others, as the director Bharti Airtel, Sunil Mittal, also claimed that the new money-transfer scheme is safer and more secure than the usual way of transferring money. He also added that this new method will also help people from the developing world.
