The 5800 XpressMusic is a touch-screen cell phone and it is Nokia’s first finger-touch phone. It is called the “Tube” and it is the first phone ever to use the latest version of S60 Smartphone platform, designed to touch-screen phones, and it is called as the “S60 Touch”. The 5800 has a plastic below and above the touch screen, and there are also bumpers on the edges to protect the screen. But because of that, it became less attractive and those bumpers absorb dirt, so it became less presentable. The 5800 uses resistive touch screen so that it permits the use of stylus pen. It permits hand writing recognition. Asian markets are crucial at this kind of feature. As for the software, 5800 offers several options to create a message: QWERTY, numeric (T9), handwriting, and a special mini-QWERTY designed to be used with the stylus.
