Sweden’s Mobycator is pretty chummy with cell phone company Nokia as it has recently launched a media publishing system for the Nokia S60 models. This system called Mobypal is a free application that allows customers to publish and store photos and videos on the Internet in a flash. Media can be uploaded to the server via WLAN, 3G or Edge at the original resolution without reducing the quality when published on the site. Another feature is a Mobypal Face book plug-in for users who want to categorize certain media as “blog” which will then be directed to the user’s Face book account after uploading. All of these free of charge!

Cellphones with the qwerty keypad, that is, keypads that are similar to a computer’s keyboard, are the “innest” thing in town. Most cellphone manufacturers have entered the competition of “qwerty” phones (since not so long ago, only PDAs have this interface). Companies like Blackberry, Apple, Motorola, Nokia and so on and so forth, have produced their own creations to cater almost all of the people who wish to have qwerty phones at an affordable price. Phones with this type of keypad normally reduces the time of texting (SMS message) and inputting data into some of its programs/applications like phonebook, MS word and the like.

Presenting the newest cellphone monogamy in the world! From now on, you can use your hand held mobile to surf the net, listen in to good music, do bank transaction, GPS, send sms and talk from anywhere, anytime. By the late 2006, household cellphone-users outnumbered landline phone users. As of today, 4 out 5 Americans both have a cell and a landline home phone.
A traditional home phone maybe $50 a month. But usually, it doesn’t include several features such as voicemail, a caller id, call waiting, plus long distance connection. A mobile phone costs the same, but it basically includes those features.

There are certain things that we CAN’T do with our cellphones. These will teach us the proper ways on how to use a mobile phone properly. First and general rule, Don’t use your phones on public places that “silence” is required, like talking on the phone while inside the church or library. Don’t talk on the phone while driving, basically because it’s dangerous. Don’t use your phone while you’re eating or while inside the class.
Everyone loves their cellphone, but people are starting to go overboard. People forget about Etiquette. Some people tend to have a conversation with a person while their fingers works on typing text messages on the phone. Do you think you will get your friend’s message across if you’re doing two things at once? Think about it.
Dual SIM phones: a bargain!

With the birth of the many telecommunication companies in the country, some resort to having two mobile carriers at the same time, whether for business purposes or for some personal reasons. The problem is, some find the idea of carrying two mobile phones everywhere they go a hassle (or maybe switch SIM cards from time to time if you prefer it that way).
Worry not, because some phone companies have answered your troubles. Most of the China phones have this feature (aside from mobile television) added in their wide variety of mobile technology. Some allow subscribers to have 2 active SIMs simultaneously, while some only allow switching (that is, one SIM card at a time). Surely, you wouldn’t anymore carry 2 or more phones in your bag anymore—China has a solution for you.

How important can cellphones be?

Mobile phones are the current craze amongst the people. Even teenagers have it. What is so important about these little gadgets that make them a necessity in one’s life?
According to Mobile Phones Blog, there are numerous ways that a cellphone can be of help.
1. For emergency purposes: Once you get into an accident, or maybe you were held-up at the corner of some street, then you could key in the number of your local police station and call for help.
2. Have you seen some suspense movies wherein the protagonist used SMS (text messaging) to alert somebody rather than calling (i.e. Prisonbreak scene of Dr. Sara Tancredi etc.)? She did that because calls are traceable—and it’ll take some time to trace outgoing SMS. Plus, you could delete SMS in the “sent” area after you’ve sent it.
3. The power of GPS. Surely, if you are in a very critical scenario like you have been hostaged or kidnapped (hypothetically), then if you have GPS or global positioning system, the authorities will be able to track down your exact location in a short span of time.

Handphone Cellphone Concept

I love looking at concept phone designs because most of them would be beyond awesome if they came true, but this one is definitely weird. The hand phone cellphone concept is quite literally a hand phone – it’s attached to the hand, with one finger on the ear and the thumb on the mouth (just like when you make the “call” signal using your hand). It looks so unwieldy and complicated to use. How do you dial it, and how does using this device make life any easier (which is what the whole point of technology should be about)? Thankfully this is only a concept, and I hope it remains a concept forever.

Cell phones are essential in keeping everyone in the world connected, but they simply can’t work without electricity. Uganda has one of the lowest supplies of electricity in Africa and last year, Motorola provided the country with solar recharging stations run by local female entrepreneurs. Each solar-powered kiosk has a 55-watt solar panel that can charge up to 20 phones at a time. The women who run the kiosks also sell handsets, SIM cards, and provide repair services. Even locals who don’t have their own phone can use the kiosk to make calls. This project was designed to empower Ugandan women and give them entrepreneurial skills and the foundations to manage their own business.

Most phone companies are clamoring to adopt the new and less power hungry OLED display technology that has been showcased by Sony and LG, first used on their television sets. The technology offers cheaper production costs as well as the added benefit of longer battery life for Active Matrix Organic LED screens consume a fraction of the electricity or battery power their traditional counterparts consumed because they needed no back lighting. OLED’s produced their own light allowing the exclusion of the power hungry back lighting system that is standard on most LCD displays. One of the earliest adopters of the technology is Samsung, with their Omnia and Impression line, both of which offer AMOLEDS for their display screens. Read the rest of this entry »
Nokia Kiosks help the Environment

Nokia, one of the world’s biggest cellular phone maker is adopting a pilot project that aims to get hold of their customer’s old phones and also get service through self-running kiosks as they strive to get people to recycle their old mobiles. This move helps to reduce the amount of wasted devices that simply get tossed into the trash bin, polluting the environment as they leach out their many chemical components into the earth when they get to the landfill. Mobile phones are some of the most prolific technological products around and some folks even have more than one in their bags or pockets. Read the rest of this entry »
